My Process

An original is shaped from clay.  After the design elements have been added

a plaster material is poured over the original to make the mold.

After the mold is dry, the clay is removed and three

layers of glass paste are firmly packed into place.
The paste is made from crushed glass mixed with a binding agent.

After the mold is filled it is placed in the kiln and fired.

The firing process takes about 40 hours.

When the kiln is cool, the piece is removed and the plaster

broken away to get the glass out, it is cleaned, cold worked
and sealed.
